Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be sold by Chelsea this summer after his out-of-window Major League Soccer move collapsed, sources have told Football Insider.

The 33-year-old is not expected to get much game time for the Blues for the rest of this season after his unimpressive start to life at Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang signed a two-year deal just last summer (2022) and his £170,000-a-week pay packet is one of the largest at Chelsea.

MLS outfit Los Angeles FC were interested in taking the former Arsenal striker on loan but it is widely reported that he has rejected the move in order to fight for his future in the Premier League.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter insisted the Gabon international has a future in his press conference on Friday (10 February).

Nevertheless, Aubameyang's omission from the Blues' Champions League squad is a hint at his place in the attacking pecking order.

He has scored just three goals in 17 appearances since joining Chelsea on transfer deadline day last year (2022).

The striker's last Premier League start came on 6 November in the 1-0 loss against former club Arsenal.

Chelsea moved to add a number of forwards of their own in the winter window - with Mykhaylo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, and David Datro Fofana all bolstering the ranks at Stamford Bridge.

Potter's side sit ninth in the Premier League - some 10 points adrift of a Champions League berth.

They face West Ham in the top flight on Saturday (11 February) but have been knocked out of both domestic cups.
