Sources: Cheltenham Town, Cambridge United and Ross County race to sign Arsenal striker Butler-Oyedeji

Cheltenham Town, Cambridge United and Ross County are pursuing a loan move for Arsenal striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, sources have told Football Insider.

This news comes after Football Insider revealed on Monday (31 July) that the Gunners have told the 20-year-old he can go out on loan before the window shuts next month.

It is believed the forward is a target for several clubs at home and abroad this summer.

League One duo Cambridge and Cheltenham have come forward to offer the youngster the chance to stay in England – while Ross County are keen for him to help in their Scottish Premiership campaign.

Clubs in Belgium, Denmark and in the German 2.Bundesliga have made enquiries about the versatile attacker – who can lead the line and play on both flanks.

Butler-Oyedeji had his first taste of senior football during a loan spell at Accrington Stanley in the second half of last season.

And it is believed Arsenal feel the young forward would be best served by leaving in another temporary move in the upcoming 2023-24 campaign.

The 20-year-old played 11 times for Accrington in his loan but failed to find the net as they suffered relegation to League Two.

He is yet to make a senior appearance for Arsenal but was included in a matchday squad on two occasions in the 2022-23 season.

Butler-Oyedeji has racked up nine goals and five assists across 61 appearances for the Gunners’ Under-21 and Under-18 sides.

The youngster will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun, who have emerged as Premier League-quality strikers after flourishing in loan spells away from the Emirates Stadium.
