Crystal Palace are preparing to approach defender Marc Guehi about a potential new contract, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Palace are well aware of the interest and are braced for offers from United and others during the upcoming transfer windows.

However, they are also planning to gauge the player's interest in penning a renewed contract at Selhurst Park.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that there is "no rush" to agree terms with Guehi as he has almost three years to run on his current agreement.

Nonetheless, Crystal Palace would love to keep the England international at the club and end speculation by convincing him to put pen to paper.

As things stand, if Guehi can continue his stellar form - serious interest from elite clubs like Man United is expected to surface in 2024.

The ex-Chelsea defender earns a reported wage of £50,000-a-week on his current deal.

He has turned out nine times across all competitions for Palace so far this season with Roy Hodgson's side sitting ninth in the Premier League.

Guehi, who has been capped seven times by England, missed just one Premier League fixture last term amid 40 total outings across all competitions.

Palace convinced star winger Michael Olise to pen a new contract at the club in similar circumstances during the summer window.

The France Under-21 international pledged his future until June 2027 despite interest from Man City and Chelsea.
