Sources: Dean Rastrick quits Tottenham for new role

Tottenham academy manager Dean Rastrick has decided to quit the club, sources have exclusively told Football Insider.

The long-standing youth-team chief is believed to have told the Londoners he is leaving after nearly 13 years for a new role at the Football Association.

He is set to link up at English football’s governing body with former Tottenham academy director John McDermott, who is the FA technical director.

Rastrick has been offered a senior role at the FA that he is understood to have accepted.

It means he will end his lengthy association with Tottenham, that began when he joined from Norwich City in the summer of 2010.

The departure of Rastrick is a major blow to the north Londoners given his experience and knowledge of youth-team football.
