Tottenham will sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently regardless of whether he triggers the clauses in his contract, sources have told Football Insider.

Kulusevski joined Spurs in January on an 18-month loan from Juventus and has made a big impact at Antonio Conte's team.

It has been widely reported that Tottenham will have to pay £31million if the Sweden international plays 20 Premier League games this season and they finish in the Premier League's top four.

Even if those objectives are not met, it is believed Spurs are confident of completing the permanent deal and, according to one well-placed source, the transfer is already "95 per cent" done.

That is understood to include the contract terms as well as the deal with Juventus.

The 27-time Sweden international has started six of Tottenham's seven Premier League games this season with Conte's side sitting third in the table.

He has notched one goal and three assists across nine total outings in league and European competition.

The £60million signing of Richarlison has added some competition for places at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The former Everton star spent the first five league games on the bench but has recently started Spurs' last four games as Conte shuffles the pack ahead of November's World Cup.

Kulusevski notched five goals and eight assists in 20 Tottenham outings last season to set tongues wagging about a potential permanent move.

The versatile star now looks set to pledge his future to the London club despite uncertainty surrounding the future of Conte - who has been linked with the Juventus job.

The Italian, who won the Premier League with Chelsea in the 2016-17 season, is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
