Peterborough attacker Siriki Dembele has rejected a potential move to Birmingham City, Football Insider understands.

The Blues submitted a £1.5million offer for the attacker and Peterborough were willing to accept it.

But a recruitment source has told Football Insider that Dembele, 25, has rejected overtures from Birmingham as he does not want to join.

He is a free agent in the summer, when his contract expires.

His situation has numerous clubs across the UK in the hunt for his capture.

Celtic, Rangers and Fulham are among the versatile winger's suitors.

Birmingham had hoped to steal a march on their rivals ahead of the summer with a seven-figure bid.

Despite Peterborough's willingness to accept the offer, Dembele is not interested in a move to St Andrew's.

The forward is keeping his options open as he weighs up his future.

Dembele was a standout performer in Peterborough’s successful promotion push in League One last term.

He scored 11 goals and contributed 12 assists in 42 league games.

The London-born forward has not been as prolific in the Championship, with five goals in 24 appearances.

However, that has not stopped clubs from circling London Road for his capture.

Peterborough currently sit 22nd in the Championship table as they look to avoid the drop back to League One.

Birmingham City

They are two points off safety, although the Posh have a game in hand over 21st-placed Reading.

Birmingham meanwhile sit 18th, 12 points ahead of Peterborough.
