Sources: Door opens for West Ham to sign Edouard after source reveals latest twist
The door has opened for West Ham to make a new move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard as Leicester City finalise the signing of Patson Daka, Football Insider understands.
The Irons were among the clubs, along with Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, who had been rivalling Leicester for Edouard up until recent weeks.
A West Ham source has told Football Insider that the club are weighing up whether to reignite their Edouard interest after learning of Daka’s imminent move.
Leicester are not expected to sign two big-money strikers this window as they already have Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho on their books.
West Ham are in the market for a centre-forward who can compete with Michail Antonio for the lone spearhead role.
This site revealed earlier in the week that would not be Daka, as he had rejected the club’s advances.

Another potential target, the Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong, is expected to join Norwich City or Southampton.
David Moyes has personally claimed Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham could be priced outside of West Ham’s reach.
Edouard, on the other hand, is available after telling friends he was likely to join Leicester following extensive talks.
There has been talk that Edouard could now stay at Celtic but a source with knowledge of his situation has told Football Insider that he is still expected to leave.
Edouard has spent the last four years in Glasgow after initially joining on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain before completing a then-club record £9m move in 2018.
Edouard scored 22 goals and provided six assists from 40 matches in 2020-21 but his performances did not reach the heights of his outstanding 2019-20 campaign.
