Sources: Edmondson set for Leeds return as plan revealed to terminate deal
Leeds United striker Ryan Edmondson is set to have his Fleetwood Town loan terminated in January, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The 20-year-old has struggled to make an impact at the League One club and failed to make the squad for last weekend’s clash against Wycombe Wanderers.
An industry source has told Football Insider that Fleetwood are preparing to cut short Edmondson’s season-long deal at the midway point.
The young forward headed to the third-tier club in June after spending last season on loan at Aberdeen and Northampton Town.
He has made 12 total appearances for Fleetwood and has scored two goals in all competitions.
However, the forward has only started four league games with the Cod Army 22nd in League One.

The Blackpool Gazette (29 October) quoted Town boss Simon Grayson as saying Edmondson was “available” for Saturday’s clash against Wycombe.
However, the striker was omitted from the matchday squad as Fleetwood earned a hard-fought 3-3 draw.
Leeds Live (11 June) claim Edmondson has two years left on his contract at Elland Road, although nothing has been officially announced by the club.
It remains to be seen if Leeds will try to find Edmondson a new loan move during the January transfer window.
Last season’s stints at Aberdeen and Northampton Town yielded mixed results for the striker.
He made a total of 37 appearances for both sides but only scored 1 goal in 21 total outings for Northampton.
