Sources: Grealish stance on quitting Aston Villa for Man City this summer revealed

Jack Grealish has told friends he would be interested in swapping Aston Villa for Man City this summer, Football Insider has learned.

This site revealed last week that the Villa talisman is top of Pep Guardiola’s target list and the club are lining up a huge offer to get their man.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Grealish is in turn attracted by the idea of a glamour move to the Premier League champions-elect.

It would mean ending his lengthy association with boyhood club Villa and that is not a decision he would take lightly.

But Grealish is excited about playing his peak years at a side regularly competing in the Champions League final stages and where he would be able to develop under the renowned Guardiola.

Villa are well placed to secure a mammoth fee for their academy product after he signed a new contract last September.

It has been reported that Villa have slapped a £100m price tag on Grealish and that makes him out of reach for now.

Football Insider has been told that it will not take that kind of money to lure the England international from the Midlands giants this summer.

City have also been strongly linked with Erling Haaland after it was announced that Sergio Aguero will leave at the end of the season.

But Haaland is not the main priority at this stage for the Premier League leaders as they target Grealish.

Villa’s hugely ambitious billionaire owners Wes Edens and Naseef Sawiris are planning to fund another massive summer signing spree and hope the capture of some elite talents can keep Grealish for another year.

But the prospect of joining City and working under Guardiola is likely to prove impossible to resist if a fee can be agreed.

Grealish has made 23 appearances for Villa this season, which have yielded seven goals and 12 assists.
