Man City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis is undergoing a Stoke City medical today, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The England Under-21 international has cut short a season-long loan at Anderlecht to make the move back to England.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Stoke have finalised a loan deal for Harwood-Bellis, 19, after keeping tabs on him for some time.

City are happy for him to move on loan to the Championship to get valuable first-team experience before returning to Etihad Stadium for next season.

Harwood-Bellis has made 19 appearances for Anderlecht this term, including 12 starts in the league.

The young defender has been under the watchful eye of Man City legend Vincent Kompany while in Belgium, who is currently manager of the Brussels club.

The loan will be the centre-back's second Championship spell in as many seasons.

Harwood-Bellis made 19 appearances for Blackburn in the second half of last term.

The Stockport-born youngster came through the ranks at Man City and is contracted until 2024 after penning new terms in 2020.

The four-times England Under-21 international has made eight senior appearances for the Citizens but is yet to feature in the Premier League.

Harwood-Bellis scored his first Man City goal in a FA Cup win over Port Vale in January 2020.

Michael O'Neil's Stoke City are looking to bolster their playoff credentials in the winter window.
