Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Lincoln City are tracking Stockport County flyer Macauley Southam-Hales, Football Insider can reveal.

He is a super-quick wing-back and has been the outstanding player this season for County.

A source has told Football Insider the EFL trio are all monitoring the 25-year-old ahead of the summer window.

Southam-Hales has played 21 times, including 14 starts, this season for County who are fighting from promotion from the National League.

He moved to Edgeley Park last summer after spending a season with Fleetwood Town.

The Welshman played five times for Fleetwood, including a substitute appearance in last season's League One play-offs.

Last season, he spent time on loan with Hartlepool United and he now has 28 National League games under his belt.

Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Lincoln City are all hoping to be in the Championship next season.

The Terriers are eight points above the relegation places with four games left to play.

Both Hull and Lincoln are chasing promotion from League One with the Imps currently fourth.

The Tigers are top of the table and could secure promotion tonight if they beat third-place Sunderland at the KCOM Stadium, Lincoln lose to Burton Albion and Blackpool fail to beat Rochdale.

They signed defender Festus Arthur from Stockport last summer but he has failed to make an impact in East Yorkshire.

The German made two appearances in the EFL Trophy early in the season but suffered a season-ending thigh injury in January.
