Joe Rodon is set to undergo a Leeds United medical after agreeing to join on loan from Tottenham, sources have told Football Insider.

The Championship giants are finalising a deal for the centre-back, 25, after Liam Cooper was ruled out for eight weeks.

Leeds have agreed terms with Tottenham and will pay a seven-figure loan fee to take Rodon for the season.

He has been given the green light to leave Spurs as he does not figure in Ange Postecoglou's plans for the new campaign.

Daniel Farke's side have pushed through a deal for Rodon following the shattering blow to Cooper.

The 31-year-old was stretchered off during Leeds' Championship return against Cardiff and will be out for up to two months with a foot injury.

The Scotland international has been a staple member of the Whites' back line but has struggled for game time in recent seasons and now the club captain is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Rodon joined Spurs in 2020 in an £11million move from Swansea City and has made 24 first team appearances since his arrival.

The 25-year-old spent the 2022-23 campaign out on loan at French side Stade Rennais where he made 22 appearances across all competitions and scored one goal.

The defender also featured in the French side's Europa League run and played the full 90 minutes of all five games he appeared in.

Rodon has also been heavily capped at international level for Wales and has made 36 appearances for the senior team following his debut under Ryan Giggs in 2019.
