Leeds United fear goalscoring midfielder Mateusz Klich may be plotting his exit despite opening talks over a new contract, Football Insider can reveal.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that the club are aware of Premier League interest in Klich and are concerned he may hold out for a move.

Burnley were keen on Klich 29, during the summer and remain interested now he has entered the final year of his contract.

They are set to closely monitor his situation and will check the outcome of negotiations before gearing up for a possible swoop.

Leeds are aware that Klich could have plenty of options if he has not penned a new deal by the new year, especially if he remains such a key member of Marcelo Bielsa's side.

The Pole has started all six of Leeds' Championship matches this season after a hugely productive 2018-19, when he scored 10 goals and supplied nine assists from 48 matches, all of them starts.

He also earned his 21th international cap in Poland's 0-0 Euro 2020 qualifier draw against Austria on Monday night.
