Sources: Leeds star Adam Forshaw set to miss rest of the season after training ground blow

Adam Forshaw is set to miss the rest of the season in a devastating blow to Leeds United, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The injury-plagued midfielder has revived his career this term after missing nearly two years due to various issues.

An industry source has told Football Insider that Forshaw has suffered a fresh knee injury in training.

He is wearing a leg brace and is set to undergo scans and X-rays on Friday (22 April).

Leeds’ medical team fear Forshaw has suffered a dislocation and is facing a long-term spell on the sidelines.

He is not expected to play again this season.

Forshaw missed Leeds’ last match against Watford with a calf strain but the club revealed he was back in training last week.

The win over the Hornets was the first game Forshaw has missed since Marsch’s arrival at Elland Road.

He started four of those matches, playing the full 90 minutes in three.

Robin Koch took Forshaw’s place in midfield alongside Mateusz Klich against Watford.

Meanwhile, Kalvin Phillips came off the bench to replace the Poland international for the final 31 minutes.

It was the homegrown star’s second appearance following his recent return from a hamstring injury.

Forshaw has played a significant role for Leeds in Phillips’ absence.

He has played 26 times across all competitions, with 17 league starts under his belt.

Leeds face Crystal Palace on Monday night as they look to take a step closer to Premier League survival.

The Whites are currently 16th in the table, five points clear of 18th-placed Burnley after the Clarets’ 2-0 win over Southampton.
