Sources: Leeds set sights on Lang after talks held

Leeds United have set their sights once again on Club Brugge sensation Noa Lang after holding talks, Football Insider understands.

United identified the 22-year-old as a top attacking target during the summer but eventually landed Daniel James from Man United in a £25million-plus deadline day deal.

An industry source has told Football Insider that Leeds are continuing to track Lang in the new season.

The club’s talent spotters are keeping tabs on the Dutch forward, who has begun the new season in electrifying form.

Lang has already scored four goals and supplied four assists from 10 matches

He completed a permanent move from Ajax for around £6million in the recent window after an outstanding season on loan.

Clubs across Europe were interesting in signing him from Brugge on a deal that would have landed them a quick and significant profit.

Leeds were among those who held negotiations but terms could not be agreed before they turned to alternative targets.

Football Insider revealed on 19th May that Lang was a firm target for Leeds after his outstanding campaign for Brugge last term.

During the 2020-21 campaign, Lang scored 17 goals and supplied 11 assists from 38 appearances in all competitions.

He has only played 14 times for Ajax, but has eight Holland Under-21 caps and is expected to step up to the senior squad in this campaign.

He mainly plays on the left wing but can also switch to the opposite flank and has also been used at centre-forward this season.
