Leicester City and Brighton are chasing highly-rated Bristol City teenager Reuben McAllister, Football Insider can reveal.

The midfielder is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in the country having already played regularly for Bristol City’s Under-23s at the age of 16.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leicester and Brighton are among a number of clubs weighing up moves for the teenage sensation.

The attacking midfielder, who is the son of ex-Scotland international Jamie McAllister, has been offered a scholarship by Bristol City.

The Championship club are desperate to keep hold of their talented youngster.

However, they face an uphill battle to keep the midfielder amid growing Premier League interest.

McAllister has been regularly watched by scouts since making his debut for the Robins' Under-23's at the age of just 15 against Queen's Park Rangers last October.

Leicester City are yet to seal their first signing of the summer window.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to bolster his squad with numerous additions after a disappointing 2021-22 campaign.

The Foxes finished eighth in the Premier League and outside of the European spots.

McAllister would not be part of the first team if he moved to the King Power Stadium or down to Brighton.

It is expected that the attacking midfielder would be put into the youth set up at a Premier League club.
