Sources: Leicester City line up January signing after Rodgers U-turn
Leicester City are in the market for a new centre-back this month after being forced to change their transfer plans, Football Insider understands.
The Foxes were not planning to make any new signings in the January transfer window, but Jonny Evans’ absence until April has forced a Brendan Rodgers U-turn.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leicester are now scouring the transfer market in search of a new centre-back on loan to aid their defensive crisis.
The Foxes have been blighted with absences all over the pitch this season.
Jamie Vardy is the latest Leicester star to be sidelined, with Rodgers revealing the striker could be out of action until March on Friday (7 December).
However, it is the other end of the pitch where problems are mounting for the Northern Irish manager.

Rodgers confirmed Evans has undergone an operation on a hamstring problem and is set to be missing until April.
He has joined fellow centre-backs Calgar Soyuncu and Wesley Fofana on the sidelines.
As such, Rodgers is now looking for potential temporary signings to fill the void.
The Foxes do have other recognised centre-backs on their books.
However, summer signing Jannik Vestergaard has struggled to establish himself at the King Power Stadium.
Meanwhile, Filip Benkovic is firmly out of favour and has failed to feature all season.
Rodgers started Hamza Choudhury as a makeshift centre-back alongside Vestergaard against Watford today (Saturday, 8 January).
