Tottenham are willing to give Arne Slot control over transfers and his coaching staff, sources have told Football Insider.

Negotiations are progressing well between Spurs and the 44-year-old, and are now believed to be at an advanced stage.

The chief point of contention in discussions has been how much control Slot will have over transfers and the composition of his coaching staff.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is ready to concede ground on recruitment and staff to make sure the deal gets finalised.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (22 May) that Tottenham expect to announce the appointment of Antonio Conte's permanent successor within days, so long as an agreement can be secured.

Slot has been open about the possibility of leaving Feyenoord, who he has just steered to the Dutch Eredivisie title - ending a three-year run of Ajax triumphs.

It has been reported in Holland that the 44-year-old has a £6million release clause in his contract.

As revealed by Football Insider last week (18 May), Slot is believed to have 'hugely impressed' the Spurs hierarchy during the interview stage.

Conte was outspoken about his perceived lack of transfer backing during his tenure at Tottenham.
