Liverpool, Everton, Crystal Palace and Burnley remain in the race to sign PSV star Johan Bakayoko before Friday's (1 September) transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.

The 20-year-old could become one of the most in-demand players in Europe during the final few days of the summer window.

It is believed Palace have recently entered the race for the Belgian after losing Wilfried Zaha to Galatasaray at the end of his contract.

Everton and Liverpool continue to monitor the winger's situation, while Burnley have seen two bids rejected for his services this summer.

The latest of those offers totalled a fee of around £17.2million - but the Clarets are unlikely to be put off their pursuit of Bakayoko.

The rapid winger scored nine goals and provided six assists in 39 appearances for PSV last term.

He has managed four assists in six appearances across all competitions for the Dutch giants in the new campaign.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that a potential move for the youngster could depend on PSV qualifying for the Champions League group stage.

Their play-off clash with Rangers is finely poised at 2-2 ahead of the second leg in Eindhoven on Wednesday (30 August).

Liverpool

Bakayoko made his senior Belgium debut in March and scored his first goal on his fourth appearance – a qualifier win over Estonia on 20 June.

The winger, who came through the youth ranks at Leuven, Club Brugge and Anderlecht, is under contract at PSV until June 2026.
