Liverpool have set their sights on Arsenal rising stars Bruno Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, Football Insider can reveal.

The Premier League leaders are assessing long-term potential transfer options and have been alerted by the performances of forward Martinelli, 18, and versatile left-sided ace Saka, 18.

A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that the club are on the trail of the teenage duo following their almost instant impact in the Arsenal first team.

The Champions League holders and runaway Premier League leaders are focusing this summer on signings potential stars rather than already established ones.

Martinelli has made a huge impact at Arsenal since signing last summer from Brazilian club Ituano for around £6million.

A versatile forward who can play down the middle or on either flank, he was phased into the first team in the Europa League group stages and the League Cup before making his first Premier League start in December.

The Brazilian has scored 10 goals from 23 appearances for Arsenal this season, including a goal against Liverpool in the 5-5 League Cup thriller earlier in the campaign.

Saka has emerged from the Gunners youth ranks to establish himself in the first team and delivered another eyecatching display in yesterday’s 4-0 thrashing of Newcastle United.

Able to play left midfield or on the left side of defence, he has started seven of Arsenal’s last nine Premier League matches at left-back after leapfrogging Saed Kolasinac and the injured Kieran Tierney.

Saka, who has just 18 months left on his contract, has made 11 league starts among 24 appearances in all competitions this season.

Arsenal are likely to need to offer the young Gunners improved contracts to ward off their suitors ahead of the summer.

In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that the club are preparing to sell Klopp’s first signing for HUGE profit.
