Back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is ready to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the 25-year-old reported Celtic target wants to move on from Anfield in search of regular first-team football.

Kelleher is keen to become the undisputed number-one shot-stopper away from Liverpool after spending several years behind Alisson in the pecking order on Merseyside.

The Hoops have again been widely linked with a potential swoop and are on the lookout for a replacement for Joe Hart - who is out of contract at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Kelleher is seen as important by Klopp, who is reluctant to let him leave Anfield this month due to a lack of cover.

The 25-year-old has turned out 11 times across all competitions this season, all of them starts, conceding 14 goals and keeping two clean sheets.

He has made 32 total appearances for Liverpool since coming through the ranks at the club, with most of those appearances coming in cup competitions.

Kelleher is under contract with the Merseysiders until June 2026 after penning his most recent extension in 2021.

He has racked up 10 caps for the Republic of Ireland but is battling with Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu for the number one jersey on the international stage.

Bazunu got the nod for eight straight games last year but Kelleher returned to the side for a friendly against New Zealand in November.
