Long-term Liverpool target Jude Bellingham has not ruled out staying at current club Borussia Dortmund for another season, sources have told Football Insider.

Man City superstar Erling Haaland rejected a mega-money exit in 2021 in order to continue his development in the Bundesliga, and sources say there is now a "possibility" of Bellingham, 19, following in his footsteps.

Dortmund are working tirelessly to secure the midfielder to a new contract - with his current deal set to expire in June 2025.

However, club chief Sebastian Kehl (as quoted by GOAL, 14 February) has insisted there is "no development" on Bellingham's future - calling on fans to be "patient for a little longer".

Dortmund are in the hunt for a first Bundesliga title for more than 10 years and have a 1-0 first-leg lead over Chelsea in the Champions League Round of 16.

It is believed that the fee could be another potential sticking point for Liverpool and Bellingham's other suitors, who include Real Madrid and Man City.

Dortmund will demand well in excess of £100million in the event of a sale this summer following the British-record Chelsea swoop for Enzo Fernandez.

They view Bellingham as a much superior player with a higher potential ceiling.

Liverpool

Liverpool are working on luring him to be the cornerstone of their midfield rebuild - despite a growing possibility that they will be without Champions League football next summer.

Bellingham has already racked up more than 150 senior club appearances and 22 England caps despite his tender age.
