Liverpool are ready to offer teen sensation Neco Williams a bumper new contract after his stunning emergence, Football Insider understands.

The right-back, 18, has made a huge impact at first-team level in recent weeks after seizing the opportunity granted by the club's glut of fixtures.

A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that the club hierarchy are planning to tie Williams down to a deal that reflects his growing status.

The Anfield academy product signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in January of last year, at the age of 17, and it runs until the summer of 2021.

He is in line for an extension and a major pay rise ahead of his 19th birthday in April.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has been impressed by how Williams has performed in a series of high-pressure matches, most notably the domestic cup wins over Arsenal and Everton, and the recent double header against Shrewsbury Town.

The Wales Under-19 international may now be ready to be a regular member of the senior squad and understudy Trent Alexander-Arnold next season.

Klopp has turned to the versatile James Milner and Joe Gomez to slot into right-back on the rare occasions when Alexander-Arnold has missed out this season.

Pundit and club legend Jamie Carragher told the Liverpool Echo how Williams and fellow teenager Curtis Jones can save Klopp and owners Fenway Sports Group a fortune in the transfer market this summer.

In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that the club are set to offload £30m-valued player after Klopp texts.
