Sources: Major update on Firpo injury as Leeds medics make up minds ahead of Tottenham showdown
Junior Firpo has been given the all-clear to make his Leeds United comeback against Tottenham this weekend, Football Insider has learned.
The 25-year-old has missed United’s last five matches due to injury and not featured since 2 October.
A Leeds source has now told Football Insider that Firpo is fully recovered from injury and is in contention to make his return away to Spurs on Sunday.
This comes after Firpo hinted on his Instagram story that his injury problems could be behind him.
He posted a picture of himself in action for Leeds and captioned it ‘soon’.
The left-back has not played since the 1-0 win over Watford at the beginning of October.

However, it was in one of Marcelo Bielsa’s ‘murderball’ training sessions where Firpo picked up the muscle injury.
Leeds United signed the defender last summer after a £12.8million deal was agreed with Barcelona.
Firpo has endured an indifferent time on the pitch since joining Marcelo Bielsa side.
Across all competitions, the left-back has made eight appearances this season.
Speaking on Firpo’s start to life at Elland Road in October, Bielsa said:
“When Junior manages to have the rhythm the Premier League imposes on you, he’s going to be a full-back that shines a lot.
“He has all the physical and technical resources to generate moments of very good football.”
Leeds travel to Spurs in the late kick off on Sunday.
Bielsa also hopes to welcome back Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling from injury.
