Sources: Major update on Leeds bid to sign Perraud after Orta meeting with Bielsa
Leeds United have identified Stade Brest defender Romain Perraud as their top left-back target this summer, Football Insider can reveal.
The Whites are in the market for a new left-sided full-back with Ezgjan Alioski set to depart at the end of his contract next month.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Perraud, 23, is the club’s preferred choice to replace Alioski.
It comes after meetings between Leeds’ owners, sporting director Victor Orta and manager Marcelo Bielsa earlier this month to discuss summer transfer plans.
Perraud was one of Ligue 1’s standout players in the 2020-21 campaign, with three goals and seven assists to his name in 36 appearances.
Stade Brest rewarded his impressive form with a two-year contract extension in January and he is under contract at the French club until the summer of 2025.

Leeds have placed the French defender at the top of their shopping list ahead of the previously linked Nicolas Tagliafico, Josh Doig and Alex Moreno.
The Yorkshire club were keen for their current makeshift left-back Alioski to extend his stay at Elland Road and offered the North Macedonia international a new contract months ago.
However, Football Insider understands the wide-man has not accepted the offer and the club now expect him to leave as a free agent.
Alioski has been a regular starter for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season and has racked up 38 appearances across all competitions.
The winger played almost the entirety of the campaign at the unfamiliar position of left-back with no recognised senior left-backs currently in the Whites squad.
