Sources: Major update on Leeds United swoop for ex-Tottenham star Madueke after talks
Leeds United have reignited their interest in PSV Eindhoven sensation Noni Madueke following new third-party discussions, Football Insider understands.
The Yorkshire giants had been put off earlier this summer after learning it would cost up to £25million to land the former Tottenham star.
But a Leeds source has told Football Insider the club have been given encouragement that PSV will lower their demands for 19-year-old Madueke to around the £20m mark.
United are looking at the England Under-21 international as they look to recruit a wide attacker capable of competing for a first-team slot in Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Another top target is Club Brugge’s Noa Lang, who made such a big impression in Belgium last season.
Madueke caught the eye of United talent spotters with some electrifying displays last season in the Dutch Eredivisie.
He has also attracted interest from Crystal Palace as well as elite European clubs including Borussia Dortmund.
The German giants are in the market to sign a wide forward after agreeing to sell Jadon Sancho in a £70million-plus to Man United that was announced yesterday.
Leeds announced the capture of teenage forward Amari Miller earlier this week and are close to completing the £12m signing of left-back Junior Firpo from Barcelona.
Spurs academy product Madueke joined PSV in 2018 and has made a huge impact since being promoted to their senior side.
He has made 32 appearances last term, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists from various attacking positions.
