Sources: Major update on Tottenham swoop for Chukwuemeka as player-plus-cash offer detailed
Tottenham are offering Northampton Town a £1million cash-plus-player exchange for striker Caleb Chukwuemeka, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Premier League giants are stepping up their pursuit of the teenage forward ahead of the transfer window cut-off next month.
A Spurs source has told Football Insider that the club are willing to pay a guaranteed sum rising to £1m with add-ons for Chukwuemeka.
They will also include their own teenage striker Kion Etete in part-exchange for then EFL front man.
This site revealed last Saturday (24 July) that the London giants have opened talks over a deal for Chukwuemeka, 19, and updated on 26 July to reveal they are offering Etete to sweeten the deal.
Northampton are also fielding other interest from Premier League clubs for their young forward, the elder brother of Aston Villa midfield sensation Carney Chukwuemeka.

The EFL starlet has impressed talent spotters, including Spurs recruitment adviser and their former manager David Pleat, in pre-season and there is a sense he has progressed to a new level in recent months.
Chukwuemeka is a versatile forward who broke into the Northampton first team with 28 appearances last term.
He is currently on a scholarship contract that expires next year and attempts by Northampton to offer him a professional contract have been rebuffed.
Etete has a different profile to the Northampton youngster.
Standing at 6ft 6in, the striker has spent the last two years at the Londoners since arriving from Notts County.
He was a regular for Spurs Under-23s last season and has scored nine goals from 26 matches at that level.
