Man City have made cash available for two big-money midfield signings in the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the Premier League leaders will press ahead with adding two midfielders if they are to lose captain Ilkay Gundogan, 32, in the off-season.

It is believed that a "huge" sum will be available to manager Pep Guardiola and the club's recruitment team for the new arrivals.

The Germany international has been a regular starter for Pep Guardiola's side this term, notching seven goals and five assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

But Gundogan, who earns a reported wage of £140,000-a-week, is keen for a new challenge as he enters the twilight years of his career.

His potential exit would leave Man City with just Rodri and Kalvin Phillips to call on in central midfield - with Bernardo Silva, Rico Lewis, John Stones and Maximo Perrone also able to play the role.

Guardiola's side have been credited with an interest in England international duo Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice - but they are closing in on big-money moves to Real Madrid and Arsenal respectively.

Mount has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool as he prepares to enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Man City sit one point clear of the Gunners in the Premier League with a game in hand as they close in on their third consecutive title.

Guardiola's side face Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday (9 May).

They will also take on Man United in the final of the FA Cup next month (3 June).
