Rasmus Hojlund has agreed personal terms with Man United, sources have told Football Insider.

In a huge new development, the Premier League giants are making progress over the signing of the Atalanta striker, 20.

United have made the capture of a prolific number nine their top priority in the closing weeks of the summer window.

They have had encouragement over a deal following talks in recent days with Serie A club Atalanta.

Significantly, Hojlund has made it clear he wants to join United.

Sources have told Football Insider there is already a verbal agreement over personal terms between United and the Danish striker.

Hojlund is regarded as one of the best young strikers in world football and it is believed he wowed Man United scouts with his lofty potential throughout the 2022-23 campaign.

He only joined Atalanta last summer (2022), but had a strong first season in Serie A and recently burst onto the international scene.

Hojlund notched 15 goals across 41 appearances in all competitions last term, despite starting in just 26 of those outings.

The forward has managed six goals in his first five senior appearances for Denmark since making his debut in September 2022.

His contract at Atalanta runs until June 2027.

Man United are keen to add a marquee striker this summer in order to ease the goalscoring burden on Marcus Rashford – who managed 30 strikes in the 2022-23 campaign.

Erik ten Hag’s side will return to the Champions League next term after achieving a third-place finish.
