Sources: Man United close to sensational signing Sancho after terms agreed

Man United have agreed terms with Jadon Sancho as they close in on what would be a sensational summer signing, Football Insider understands.

The Borussia Dortmund winger have given the green light for Sancho, 21, to leave if their £77.5million asking price is met.

United have been working on the deal behind the scenes for months and already have an agreement with the player.

He has accepted the 20-times Premier League champions’ offer of a five-year contract worth £350,000-a-year.

That would instantly catapult him into the top bracket of earners not only at Old Trafford but also in the English top flight.

United have yet to meet Dortmund’s asking price and the collapse of talks last year has led to caution that a deal can be agreed.

But the English giants are confident they can make Sancho their marquee summer signing after, as has been widely reported, submitting an opening bid of £60m-plus.

Sancho, who is hoping to start for England in their Euros opener against Croatia tomorrow, is keen to return to his homeland after four years at Dortmund.

Ole Gunnar-Solskjaer has made it a priority to recruit a right-sided forward who can provide pace and a major goal threat.

Sancho has been one of the most effective wide men in the Bundesliga in recent seasons.

He scored 16 goals and provided 20 assists in 38 matches last term, and has 50 goals and 64 assists from 137 Dortmund appearances.
