Sources: Man United close to signing Varane after terms agreed
Man United have agreed terms with Rafael Varane as they close in on what would be another landmark signing, Football Insider understands.
The Premier League giants are in negotiations to add the capture of the Real Madrid centre-back, 28, to the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
A United source has told Football Insider that the club have now reached an agreement in principle over personal terms with Varane.
He has accepted the 20-times Premier League champions’ offer of a lucrative five-year contract.
United have been working on the deal behind the scenes for months and this is regarded as a major breakthrough.
There is still work to be done on the transfer for Varane to be confirmed as a United player.

United need to agree a fee with Real for the France international, who is out of contract next year, as well as the structure of payments.
The possibility of the transfer being finalised has significantly increased since negotiations between the clubs resumed.
The English giants are confident they can make Varane their second marquee summer signing.
Ole Gunnar-Solskjaer has made it a priority to recruit a senior centre-back who can provide cover and competition for Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
Varane has long been regarded as one of the world’s elite central defenders and has an extensive trophy haul including a World Cup, four Champions Leagues and three Spanish league titles.
He has made 360 appearances for Real since signing from Lens in 2011 for around £9million.
