Sources: Man United eye Victor Osimhen deal after Tottenham move rejected

Man United have joined Chelsea, Tottenham and PSG in the race to sign Victor Osimhen, sources have told Football Insider.

United are keeping tabs on Osimhen in their hunt for a new number nine in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old’s current deal at Napoli runs until 2025 but he is set to be the subject of big transfer interest at the end of the season.

Earlier this month (3 February), Football Insider revealed that Tottenham made an enquiry for the forward in January but their approach was knocked back by the Italian club.

It is believed Spurs are planning to reignite their interest in Osimhen in the summer.

The Nigeria international is valued at the £70million mark by Napoli after an impressive season in Serie A.

The striker has scored 19 goals in 20 Italian top flight appearances already this season as well as two goals in four Champions League performances.

On 14 February, Football Insider also revealed that Osimhen is a top target for Chelsea ahead of the summer window as they look to add a proven and prolific goalscorer before next season.

United are another club in need of a number nine for next season and have been linked with Spurs’ Harry Kane.

They completed the winter signing of Wout Weghorst on loan but this site revealed (21 February) that they are not expected to offer a permanent deal to the Burnley striker.

Erik ten Hag’s other centre-forward option is Anthony Martial, who has made just nine Premier League appearances this season and is out of contract in 2024.

In other news, according to sources, Man United have active interest in signing Harry Kane after talks update.
