Man United fear they won't be able to sell Harry Maguire this summer due to his "insane" wages, sources have told Football Insider.

Manager Erik ten Hag wants the 30-year-old to be sold this summer and has made his wishes clear to the Old Trafford board.

The Red Devils are planning an overhaul of their squad during the off-season, with a more mobile replacement for Maguire high on the priority list.

However, sources have told Football Insider that the club captain is on "insane" wages at the club - believed to be in excess of £200,000-a-week.

Maguire's contract at Man United runs until June 2025 after he joined from Leicester in 2019 for a reported £80million.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a shock swoop for Maguire.

He has made 21 appearances across all competitions this season - just 10 of which have come as part of the starting lineup.

The big-money signing of Lisandro Martinez has relegated Maguire to a bit-part role in Ten Hag's side after he was a regular starter last term.

Man United are expected to be active again in the summer after a reported transfer outlay of £215.5million across both windows this season.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Tottenham's Harry Kane are among the top targets.

The Old Trafford club sit third in the Premier League with 13 games remaining this term.
