Sources: Man United put six senior stars up for sale

Man United are prepared to sell six first-team stars this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Red Devils are putting Anthony Martial, Donny Van de Beek, Scott McTominay, Dean Henderson, Brandon Williams and Harry Maguire up for sale.

Erik ten Hag has been told by the United board that the club will have to sell in order to invest in new signings this summer.

All six players have fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and the Dutchman has decided that they are surplus to requirements in his squad.

Football Insider sources revealed on Friday (3 March) that West Ham are interested in signing Martial, McTominay and Martial.

McTominay and Maguire have both fallen down the pecking order at United, with Ten Hag preferring to start new signings Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez over the duo.

Van de Beek and Martial have spent most of the season in the treatment room, with the Dutch midfielder requiring surgery after suffering an ACL injury, and Martial suffering four separate setbacks to his Achilles, back, hip and hamstring.

Henderson left on loan to Nottingham Forest in the summer after it was made clear that he would play second fiddle to David de Gea, and the 25-year-old goalkeeper has impressed during his temporary stint with Steve Cooper’s side.

Williams has played just five minutes in the United first-team this season, coming off the bench for a short cameo against Burnley in the EFL Cup.

Summer signing Tyrell Malacia has forced the 22-year-old defender out of the picture at Old Trafford, with the Dutchman competing with Luke Shaw for his favoured left-back spot.
