Man United are admirers of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya amid doubts over the future of David De Gea, sources have told Football Insider.

The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of June - and is attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Raya is admired by recruitment chiefs at Old Trafford as they look to bring in competition for De Gea this summer.

He fits Ten Hag's profile due to his ability to play out from the back under pressure - an attribute De Gea has struggled to adapt to since the Dutchman's arrival.

Man United face strong competition from Tottenham in the race for the Brentford star, who is out of contract in June 2024.

Raya made 39 appearances across all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign – conceding 47 goals and keeping 12 clean sheets.

The Barcelona-born star is capped twice for Spain and has racked up 62 total appearances in the Premier League.

Brentford have already wrapped up a deal to replace Raya - with Freiburg shot-stopper Mark Flekken joining for a reported £11million last month.

Man United

Man United, who will return to the Champions League in the 2023-24 campaign, are yet to make a summer signing.

Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund and Kim Min-jae are among the other stars widely linked with an Old Trafford switch.
