Sources: Man United set sights on Max Aarons as price tag revealed

Man United have shortlisted Norwich City star Max Aarons as they step up plans to sign a right-back, sources have told Football Insider.

United are in the market for a right-sided defender to take over as first choice in that position.

It is believed that Aarons, 22, is among their list of targets of right-backs even though he is currently playing in the Championship.

The England Under-21 star is contracted to Norwich until the summer of 2024 and is valued around the £15million mark.

Diego Dalot has ousted Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Erik ten Hag’s first choice right-back this season and has put in a string of impressive performances.

Ten Hag told Sky Sports after the 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday (30 October) that the club need two good right-backs as he praised Dalot’s development.

Wan-Bissaka has only played four minutes of football this season but he was unavailable for over a month due to an injury.

Despite his age, Aarons has vast Premier League experience after establishing himself as Norwich’s first-choice right-back at the beginning of the 2018-19 season.

He has made 184 appearances across all competitions for the Canaries, including 70 top-flight games.

In that time he has chipped in with six goals and 15 assists, including four assists in the Premier League.

After starting Norwich’s first 17 Championship games this term, Aarons was dropped to the bench for the 3-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday (29 October).
