Sources: Man United set sights on signing Leeds star Tyler Adams

Man United are keeping close tabs on Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League giants have a long-time interest in the USA international dating back to his RB Leipzig days.

United are continuing to monitor Adams as they shortlist potential central midfield captures.

The 23-year-old has made a big impact at Leeds since his £15million arrival and is widely regarded to have been the best of their summer signings.

He had played every minute of their Premier League campaign before missing last weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Fulham with a muscle injury.

Adams’ energy and dynamism have impressed onlookers and his statistics on and off the ball are also very impressive.

He ranks first in the Premier League for pass interceptions in the opponent’s half (27) and fourth for most successful tackles (36).

US legend Eric Wynalda has claimed to VegasInsider that Adams “is blowing everyone off the charts” with his performances and metrics.

Man United attempted to address their midfield issues in the summer with the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid.

Kalvin Phillips was on their list of targets before he signed for Man City.

Adams was brought in by Leeds to help replace Phillips and he has quickly established himself as a fans favourite in a struggling side.

The 19-cap international signed a five-year deal at Elland Road when he arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer.

He had previously worked under Jesse Marsch at Leipzig and at New York Red Bulls.
