Burnley are set to make a third bid of £10million for Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall as Brighton prepare a move for the defender, Football Insider sources understand.
Burnley have made Worrall a top target before the transfer window closes on Wednesday and saw their opening two offers rejected by Forest.
However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Burnley boss Sean Dyche is determined to land Worrall and Burnley are preparing a third bid rising to £10million for the England Under-21 international.
Burnley could face competition for Worrall with Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion monitoring the defender’s situation at the City Ground.
Seagulls boss Chris Hughton is a big admirer of Worrall and if Forest are prepared to sell the the 6ft 4in defender this month then Brighton could enter the bidding for the player.
Worrall, who has come through the ranks at the City Ground, has caught the eye for Forest this season with a number of towering displays at the heart of their backline.
Forest are reluctant to lose Worrall, but they are bracing themselves for further offers for the 21-year-old before the transfer window closes.
