Jorge Mendes is simultaneously working on two Wolves transfers as the Bruno Lage era gets underway, Football Insider has learned.
Super agent Mendes is negotiating the sale of Rui Patricio to Roma and the capture of Jose Sa from Olympiakos.
A source has told Football Insider Lage is a huge admirer of Sa and has lined him up to replace Patricio at Molineux.
It comes amid a flurry of potential Wolves big-name exits following Nuno Espirito Santo’s exit as manager.
Mendes is a consultant to the club’s Chinese owners as well as new manager Lage’s agent.
To complete the latest Wolves transfer chain involving the Portuguese, he also represents keeper duo Patricio and Sa as well as Roma boss Jose Mourinho.
Lage has agreed to become the new Wolves manager although he has yet to be formally unveiled while the club acquire work permits for his backroom team.
Patricio, 33, has been at Molineux for the past three seasons and has played 127 games across all competitions.
He suffered a dip in form this season but still kept 10 clean sheets in 37 Premier League games.
Sa, 28, is a league champion with Olympiakos and has Champions League experience.
He moved to the Greek outfit, initially on loan, from FC Porto in the summer of 2018 and has kept clean sheets in half of his 124 appearances.
Ex-Wolves boss Nuno was actually Sa’s manager at Porto.
His form has earned him a regular place in the Portugal squad but he is yet to make his national team debut.
