Sources: Michail Antonio eyes move as Everton interest revealed
Everton target Michail Antonio is set to be the subject of Premier League interest again this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Toffees and Wolves were keen on signing the 33-year-old West Ham star in the January window but a move failed to materialise.
This summer could be the last chance for Antonio to secure a last long-term big-money contract, with around 14 months left to run on his Irons deal.
The Jamaica international currently earns a reported wage of £85,000-a-week at the London Stadium.
Sources with knowledge of Antonio’s situation have revealed that West Ham could be willing to part with him if they can secure the signing of a new striker in the summer window.
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (12 April) that the Irons will line up a summer deal for Flamengo striker Pedro if they secure Premier League survival.
Antonio has been an incredible servant for the Londoners since joining almost eight years ago.
He has scored 70 goals across 264 appearances for West Ham and is the club’s all-time leading Premier League goalscorer.
The forward has managed nine goals and four assists in 36 total appearances this season – but has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot in the top flight.
Everton and Wolves are both fighting against the threat of relegation to the Championship as the Premier League run-in approaches.
Both clubs are among the lowest scorers in the English top flight – with injuries to the likes of Sasa Kalajdzic and Dominic Calvert-Lewin proving costly to their respective sides.
