Sources: Middlesbrough and Hull submit bids for QPR star Seny Dieng

Middlesbrough and Hull City have made bids for Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Seny Dieng, sources have told Football Insider.

The Championship duo are both looking to strengthen their goalkeeping department this summer losing loan stars Zack Steffen and Karl Darlow.

Steffen is set to return to Man City after spending the season at the Riverside Stadium, while Darlow is scheduled to return to Newcastle after impressing in Yorkshire.

Dieng, 28, has become a top target for both Middlesbrough and Hull after performing well for QPR in what was an underwhelming 2022/23 campaign for the London club.

The Senegal international made 48 appearances in all competitions for QPR, including all of their Championship games. He kept nine clean sheets and conceded 74 goals.

Dieng is entering the final year of his contract at Loftus Road and QPR could be forced to cash-in on him this summer to avoid the risk of losing him for free.

The shot-stopper has been with QPR since 2016 after joining on a free transfer from AFC Fylde.

However, Dieng only broke through as a first-team starter in the 2020/21 season, where he went on to keep 11 clean sheets for the club in 43 appearances.

Before his breakthrough, Dieng endured loan spells at Whitehawk, Stevenage, Dundee and Doncaster Rovers.

During his three years as the first-choice goalkeeper, he has tallied up 121 appearances and 30 clean sheets for QPR.
