Middlesbrough are open to letting first choice goalkeepers Joe Lumley and Luke Daniels go this summer, Football Insider understands.

Lumley and Daniels both have a year to run on their contracts at the Riverside, but Chris Wilder is open to offers for the pair as he plans big changes between the sticks next season.

A Boro source has told Football Insider that one of the manager's priorities is to recruit a new number one in the upcoming window.

Lumley started the season as first-choice goalkeeper, but Daniels has been playing in goal for the last six games as Boro narrowly missed out on the play-offs.

He let in four goals as Wilder's side lost 4-1 to Preston North End on Saturday (7 May) to finish seventh in the Championship table.

They finished five points behind Luton Town who secured the final play-off place with a 1-0 win over Reading on the final day.

It now looks set to be a busy first summer under Wilder and the goalkeeping department will be a particular area of interest.

Along with Lumley and Daniels, Middlesbrough also have Dejan Stojanović, 28, on their books but he is on loan with German side FC Ingolstadt 04.

Teeside Live reported on Monday (9 May) that goalkeeper coach Ian Bennett, who was brought in by Neil Warnock, will leave the club along with seven players who are out of contract.

Meanwhile, Folarin Balogun, Aaron Connolly, James Lea Siliki and Andraz Sporar will all return to their parent clubs after unsuccessful loan spells.
