Sources: Millwall in race to sign Rotherham United star Chiedozie Ogbene
Millwall are among a number of Championship clubs plotting moves for Rotherham United attacker Chiedozie Ogbene, sources have told Football Insider.
Ogbene, 25, is in the final six months of his contract at Rotherham and several second-tier sides, including Millwall, are weighing up a move for the forward in this month’s transfer window.
Rotherham are reluctant to lose Ogbene this month but could be forced to cash in on the winger rather than risk allowing him to run down his contract and leave for nothing in the summer.
The former Brentford man has impressed for Rotherham this season with six goals and two assists in 20 Championship appearances.
Ogbene has also caught the eye on the international stage for the Republic of Ireland with three goals in 10 caps.
The forward, who started his career with Cork City in the League of Ireland, has racked up 117 total appearances for the Millers since joining in the summer of 2019.

He played a key role on the right flank last season (2021-22) as the South Yorkshire side won promotion from League One, notching four goals and 11 assists in 53 total appearances.
Ogbene has since transitioned into a traditional centre-forward role, but can also play in attacking midfield and on the left flank.
Rotherham sit 21st in the Championship – just a point outside the drop zone.
Meanwhile, sixth-place Millwall are locked in an intense battle for a play-off place – with just four points separating fourth and 15th in the second tier.
Ogbene could provide competition for the likes of Tom Bradshaw and Tyler Burey if he is to join the Lions.
