Sources: Mourinho plans to lure 'phenomenal' Tottenham star Hojbjerg to Roma
Jose Mourinho is planning to make a move this summer for Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The recently-appointed Roma manager intends to get in contact with his old club about signing the Denmark international for the second time in 12 months.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Hojbjerg is the only Spurs player Mourinho is looking to recruit in the upcoming window.
He made no attempt to hide his admiration of the midfield anchorman since signing him from Southampton last summer.
Mourinho hailed Hojbjerg last December as “a phenomenal player” who is “very intelligent”, “physically very, very strong and technically he’s much better than people think”.
Hojbjerg has remarkably played every single minute of Spurs’ Premier League campaign, a record he has maintained since Mourinho was sacked.

In total, he has accumulated 36 league starts among 51 appearances in all competitions this season.
He marked Sunday’s 2-0 triumph over Wolves with a goal and an assist, the first time he has done both in a league game.
His tally of 4,143 first-team minutes puts him among the highest outfield players in Europe this season.
The former Bayern Munich star joined Tottenham last summer for a fee of around £15m, a deal subsequently hailed as “excellent business” by Mourinho.
The Dane had entered the final year of his contract at Southampton, where he had been stripped of the captaincy after rejecting a new deal.
