Tammy Abraham wants a new Chelsea contract and more money than club and country teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi, Football Insider can reveal.

The centre-forward, 22, has  a contract that runs until 2023 after activating the one-year extension in his current deal by reaching a set number of goals and games this season.

A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that the club have been in talks for some time on a new long-term deal with Abraham and are hopeful of reaching an agreement.

However, Abraham's camp are growing impatient with the lack of progress in discussions.

He has seen the club give Hudson-Odoi, who is three years younger at 19, be handed a deal worth £120,000 a week and Reece James around £100,000 a week.

Abraham believes he has done enough this season to prove he should be earning more than Hudson-Odoi.

The winger has started just seven times in the Premier League this season compared to 25 starts for Abraham.

Abraham, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, has scored 16 goals in 43 matches in all competitions for Chelsea this season but has struggled for form in recent times.

He has failed to find the net in his past 10 games for the club and has started just three of their nine matches since the restart.

Olivier Giroud is the new first choice up front and Chelsea have already agreed the £50million-plus signing of Timo Werner to further increase competition next season.

Frank Lampard has said that Abraham's contract talks are "not at a critical level" but there are growing fears they could collapse.
