Sources: Newcastle told £50m+ will land Harvey Barnes
Newcastle will have to pay Leicester £50million to land summer target Harvey Barnes, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (11 April) that the Magpies are among the Premier League clubs ready to pounce for Barnes this summer – with Tottenham also keeping tabs on the England international.
It is believed that Leicester will demand top dollar for the 25-year-old even if relegation to the Championship weakens their bargaining position.
Barnes has just over two years left to run on his contract at the King Power Stadium, which nets him a reported wage of £40,000-a-week.
The England international has notched 10 goals and three assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this season – with all his strikes coming in the Premier League.
The Leicester academy product has made 140 top-flight appearances since making his breakthrough at the club in 2019, scoring 32 goals and notching 25 assists.

Foxes captain James Maddison is also the subject of interest from Newcastle and Tottenham.
Football Insider revealed on 7 April that Spurs have moved ahead of their top-four rivals in the race for the midfield star – with Liverpool also interested in his services.
Despite the midfield duo enjoying some of their best-ever form this season, Leicester are staring down the barrel of a potential relegation to the Championship.
The Foxes sit 19th in the table and are two points from safety with eight games remaining this term.
Newcastle moved for Anthony Gordon in the January window and also have Allan Saint-Maximin to call on in a left-wing berth.
Tottenham loanee Arnaut Danjuma will return to Villarreal this summer, leaving Richarlison and Heung-min Son as their left-flank options.
