Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron has agreed terms with Saudi club Al-Shabab, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the forward has accepted a "huge" offer from the Saudi Pro League outfit as he looks to make a winter window move to the Middle East out.

However, Newcastle and Al-Shabab are yet to reach an agreement on a fee for Almiron.

The deal is expected to go through, nevertheless, with Newcastle looking to raise funds for new recruits through player sales and to help their Financial Fair Play obligations.

Manager Eddie Howe is open to the sale of the 29-year-old, who is not considered a key part of the club's long-term plans.

Almiron arrived at Newcastle for a reported fee of £21million from MLS outfit Atlanta United in January 2019, but he is expected to end his five-year spell at the club

He has featured prominently this season having made 24 starts from 31 total appearances in all competitions.

The Paraguay international has notched five goals and two assists, including the opening goal in their historic Champions League group stage win against Paris Saint-Germain in October.

It is believed that the club must sell players this month to make room for new additions and to help avoid financial charges recently levelled at Everton and Nottingham Forest.

Many of their other key players have been linked with moves away from Tyneside this month.
