Nottingham Forest, Norwich City and Huddersfield Town are plotting moves to sign Cameroon defender Enzo Ebosse, Football Insider understands.

The left-back, 23, impressed for Angers in Ligue 1 last season and is set to join a new club ahead of the new campaign.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Forest, Norwich and Huddersfield are in the market for a new left-back and Ebosse figures highly on their wanted lists.

Forest won promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs with a 1-0 win over Huddersfield last week (29 May) and Jack Colback, a midfielder by trade, started at left wing-back.

Max Lowe was also utilised in that role but has returned to Sheffield United after spending the 2021-22 season on loan.

Norwich also relied on a loan player at left-back in Man United's Brandon Williams as they finished bottom of the Premier League.

Harry Tofollo was Huddersfield's first-choice left-back and the club confirmed on Wednesday (1 June) that they had triggered a 12-month extension in his contract after a fine season.

Ebosse, who is under contract until the summer of 2023, could provide competition at all three clubs after an impressive season with Angers as they finished 14th Ligue 1 in the 2021-22 campaign.

He is able to operate at left centre-back in a back three as well as at left-back and would offer versatility to both Huddersfield and Forest who line up with a back three.
