Sources: Nottingham Forest and West Brom among six clubs racing to sign Aston Villa star Davis
Six Championship clubs have contacted Aston Villa about signing Keinan Davis in January, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
This site broke the news on 24 November of Norwich City’s interest in the 23-year-old striker as Villa prepare to listen to offers for him next month.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Championship outfits Bournemouth, Fulham, Huddersfield Town, Nottingham Forest, Stoke City and West Brom have all made enquiries about taking Davis on loan next month.
Davis and Villa will now assess all their options before making a decision on where he goes in the upcoming window.
Both loan and permanent options are on the cards, with a fee of £2-4million expected to be enough to prise the striker from the Midlands giants.
Davis has a contract that runs until the summer of 2024 after last putting pen to paper on a deal in September 2020.
In the current campaign, the attacker has suffered from a knee injury and made just a single substitute appearance.
This came on 5 November in the 1-0 Premier League defeat to Southampton that was Dean Smith’s final match as manager.
Davis has featured on the bench under new boss Steven Gerrard but has failed to earn a chance to impress.
He has played for Villa’s youth sides, scoring three goals and providing one assist in three outings for the Under 23s this season.
Bournemouth and Fulham continue to fight for top spot in the Championship.
West Brom and Stoke currently occupy play-off spots while Huddersfield and Forest are still in with a shout of securing a trip to Wembley at the end of the season.
