Tyrone Mings will tell Bournemouth he wants to quit this summer and join Aston Villa, Football Insider can reveal.
The giant centre-back was instrumental in the Midlands giants securing promotion via the play-offs after joining on loan from the Cherries in the January window.
A source close to the player told Football Insider that Mings is eager to make the move to Villa Park a permanent one after settling in so well at his temporary club.
Mings helped to transform what had been a vulnerable defence with some rock-solid performances in the left-sided centre-back position as Dean Smith’s side rocketed up the table to secure fifth place and then reach the Premier League through the play-offs.
It remains to be seen whether Villa will be able to afford the defender’s price tag, with Danny Mills warning it could soar towards the £20million mark if there is an auction for his services.
Mings has made only 23 appearances in four years for Bournemouth since signing from Ipswich Town, mainly due to a series of serious injuries.
He is contracted to Eddie Howe’s side for three more years until 2022.
In the latest Aston Villa news, it can be REVEALED that the club have reached a verbal agreement to make loan star their first summer signing.
